Serat: Journal of Literature and Cultural Studies is an official triannual journal of the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, West Java, Indonesia. Launched in February 2024, the open-access journal accepts submissions of articles, book reviews, short fiction, and poetry to be blind reviewed and considered for publication. Serat promotes writings that fall within its scope and contribute critical and creative ideas to the current discourses in literature, literary criticism, and cultural studies.
Serat: Journal of Literature and Cultural Studies operates an anonymized review process after an initial assessment by the Chief Editor. Manuscripts rejected at this stage either do not fall within the Aims and Scopes of the Journal, do not conform to the submission guidelines, contain elements that are suspected to be plagiarized, are currently under review at another journal, or do not meet the English language standard for the review process.
All information shared with Serat: Journal of Literature and Cultural Studies will be used only for the purposes of the journal and will not be disclosed to other parties for any purposes. Authors and editors shall uphold a mutual commitment to respecting each other's privacy, thereby mitigating the risk of copyright infringement, including but not limited to acts of duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism. The manuscript submitted must be an original work attributable to the submitting author(s), is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and/or has never been published in any other journals. Serat: Journal of Literature and Cultural Studies reserves the right to retract a publication in the face of proven fraud, or our editors may express concern if there is a substantiated suspicion of misconduct.
